びた一文の「びた」は、鐚銭（びたせん・びたぜに）の略。 粗悪な銭貨を意味し、室町中期から江戸初期にかけて私鋳され、特に中国の永楽銭以外の私鋳銭や、寛永通宝鋳造後の鉄銭をさす。
